Double yellow headed Amazon Parrot named Joe.

Ann and Bob Busby have adopted a double yellow headed Amazon Parrot named Joe.

Joe was advertised last week in the Ocalla4sale on line adopt a pet section. Ann was looking for a pet bird and came across the picture of Joe and fell in love with him right then and there.

Joe is ten years young, talks, and enjoys having fun and sharing time with birds, dogs, cats and people but prefers his new owner to be a woman who loves and pampers him; he will tolerate men when his special woman owner is not around. Joe is said to love long baths, enjoys naps, and watching cartoons and listening to music while he plays in and on top of his cage with his toys, puzzles, and ladders.

Ann and I have talked to Joe’s current owner Lizette who loves Joe but spends more time at work now than ever before and she felt Joe needed a home where his owners had more time to spend with him so Joe could enjoy the attention he deserves.

Joe currently lives in Bunnell, Florida so he will have an exciting ride from Bunnell which is about ninety miles from The Villages, Florida where Joe will be moving to in order to enjoy more fun and exciting moments in life with Ann and Me (Bob).

After talking with Lizette several times, we learned Lizett owns and operates a dog grooming business called Sassy Paws in Bunnell, Florida, and due to her spending way too much time at the business she felt it was time to find Joe a new home.

Apparently the messages Ann and I left on her answering machine and several conversations later, we were determined to be the kind of folks Joe will like being around and living with.
Ann and I will drive to Bunnell tomorrow (May 29, 2016) to meet Lizett and Joe and make sure Joe likes us and if Joe and Lizette like us we will drive Joe home with us to start his new life with US in The Villages, Florida.

Ann and I owned two birds in the 1990s and early 2000s but had to find them a new home because we also were not home enough to keep them company, read my stories about our love bird, and cockatiels, and their antics at bird camp In Washington DC.

We have already gotten into pet bird mode and started getting a place ready for Joe, buying Joe bird toys, food, games and such so Joe will be happy on arrival at his new home.

We have not had any pets since we found our birds a new home in the mid 2000s and are looking forward to having Joe in our lives. More about Joe to follow as our venture back into being bird owners continues.
