Today Saturday July 9, 2016 I was amazed to find Joe better
than he was yesterday, he was his usual cuddly self but today I let Joe do his
parrot thing in his cage without any interference from me. Those of you who have been reading Joe’s blog
know that yesterday Joe was upset about everything and was in a beaking mood,
at least till late in the day when Joe went from beaking mood to cuddly mood.
When I checked on Joe this morning he was not ready to be up,
he was playing with one of his toys and did not want to be bothered with any
human contact, so I just left his cage cape flap open and let him continue on
with his toys. While Joe played with his
toys I worked on some family history on myheritage.com and drank some coffee
listening to Joe work his way through his plastic toy maze, could hear pieces
of the toy bouncing off the cage floor, Joe was having a good time working on
the toy puzzle.
I have been collecting the toy pieces off the bottom of Joe’s cage
so Ann and I can put together another puzzle for Joe to play with later; of
course Joe has several different types of toys in his cage to work on when he
finishes his current toy project.
After an hour or so Joe was finished with his toy, got his toast
and even a cheeto along with several beaks of water and then it was time for a
nap or Joe’s version of a nap. During this process Joe’s cage cape cover was
completely removed by me and his food and water changed out by Ann.
So far today has been nicer than yesterdays antics of beaks,
bites, and parrot and humans being upset for who knows why, guess the 105 heat
with 110 hear index was the culprit even though we were all inside with the
cool air going.
Today I left to get Ann’s medication, told Joe bye bye and Joe
said blaaaaaaaaaaaaa, and then said cracker as I left to accomplish my errands.
Ann and I are thinking the mail parrot is lashing out at the male human while
being all cuddly with the female human; we will work on getting Joe back to his
cuddly self with everyone.
As always no humans or
parrots were injured in the fun times at the Busby’s house today and more fun
and exciting parrot stories will follow about Joe the Amazon Parrot.
