Today was the start of eleven days since Joe made his way to
Busby’s house hold, and like all the other mornings, the day started off with
Joe saying Bob as I uncovered his cage.
Not sure how Joe picked up on my name so quickly but he did
and uses it frequently for good, bad, ugly and fun moments.
Joe is passing forty or so words and phrases and amazes us
each and every day with his ability to make us laugh and use his words and
phrases at just the right moments.
We have been a little worried that Joe has been napping more
than we think he should during the day, we expected him to nap in mid morning
and mid afternoon, but Joe nap all the time.
Our new bird buddy Joe does get exercise by climbing up and
down the height of his cage numerous times and hour and getting out of his cage
and climbing to the dome area to walk about.
Joe’s trip from his top perch to the lower portions of his
cage is to get to his two food cups which are near his bottom perch, one has
fresh food and the other dried food, and his three water cups are at the top of
his cage near his top perch.
Water cups – one for fresh water – one for Joe to dunk his
food in – one for Joe to take a bath in – Joe has not taken a bath yet –
ohoooooooooooooooooooooo.
Toys for Joe have not been used much but Joe will learn about
his toys from Ann who plans on starting a Joe learning session daily to teach
Joe about toys and new words.
Ann and I spend lots of time with Joe in the morning,
afternoon and evening, after all we are retired.
Joe seems to be adapting well to his new home and PARENTS and
Ann and I hope to continue to make Joe the Amazon Parrot happy.
