Today Thursday July 21, 2016 was kind of a blur just like
yesterday and am not sure what all took place this morning other than the usual
wake up, make coffee, make toast, wake Joe the Amazon Parrot up, drink coffee
while Joe eats his toast and we both read the morning news after I cleaned the
bottom of Joe’s cage and replace his soiled cage paper, so he could read the
daily news on the bottom of his cage.
When I left the house Joe was still reading the news paper,
snacking, and having a sip or two of water, while Ann was still in dream land.
Today was my biweekly visit to the chiropractor to have my right knee lasered,
heated, electrified, and of course poked and prodded all in an attempt to keep
my knee from hurting so badly at times I cannot stand on my leg.
When I arrived home Joe was on top of his cage playing with a
very large multicolored plastic ball but did stop long enough to say
Bobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb before he got back to attacking the plastic ball.
Ann was up and came out of the master suite to see what Joe
was calling Bobbbbbbbbbbbb for and found me and Joe having a human to parrot
and parrot to human conversation, smiled and went back to her reading.
Joe sat on top of his cage as I caught up on some email,
collage work, and research on the Busby family and made a few suggestions or
statements every now and then like “Cracker” “Hello” “Want to come here” and of
course “Bobbbbbbbbbbbbbb”.
At some point in the AM Joe suggested Ann and I take him out
to the lanai so he could have his morning mist shower, so all of us walked to
the lanai where Joe had about twenty minutes of talking and showering before
returning to his cage by way of his Parrot walk.
While Joe was climbing up the side of his cage our two maids
arrived and Joe was not happy he was not the center of attention until the
maids came in and of course started talking to Joe and giving him the attention
he loves. I took Joe back to the master suite so he would not distract the
maids while they were working and Joe did not like not having his new audience.
While back in the master suite Joe practiced his words and
phrases and watched a recording of Tarzan on the television, Joe loved radio
and television almost as much as he loves and audience.
After the maids left Ann, Joe and I had Chinese food for
lunch; Joe had some chicken, crackers, noodles, followed by his regular fresh
veggies and dry pellets with a beak or two of water. Joe has to taste whatever
Ann and I are eating even if he has his own food; he wants to make sure the
food is good enough for us.
While the tropical thunder storms were moving through the area
of The Villages, Florida Ann and I caught up on our reading while Joe watched a
show about the life and times of a parrot – smiles.
As the thunder and rain kicked into high gear all of us
decided to take a nap to make sure we would be able to get through what was
left of the day and dozed off for about and hour into the off and on storm we
were all awakened to a loud clash of thunder and lighting and that was the end
of the afternoon nap.
While reading our concentration was interrupted by the ding
dong of the front door bell, UPS delivered more stuff for Joe the Amazon
Parrot, the box was addressed to Joe the Amazon Parrot!
A close check of the contents of the box
found neither Ann nor I ordered the items and were about to send the box back
when Joe spoke up and said he ordered the items! It seems Joe has been watching
us while we have been on the computer and just picked out a few on line items himself,
hit send and that was that – Not sure what to say about Joe’s actions but what
he ordered was something I was going to order anyway so no harm done – smiles.
As the day is winding down and my fingers are tired, brain fog
is setting in and Joe is tired of his blog for the day, all of us decided to
continue reading with the television going in the background.
No parrot or human was harmed (depending on the definition of
harmed) in the interaction of Parrot and Humans on this day and evening.
Depending on the definition of harmed determines what harmed
means, after all an accidental parrot beak accidentally clamping down on a finger
or hand cannot be considered harm according to Joe the Amazon Parrot who feels
if humans bump their fingers and hands into a Parrots beak any accidentally
injury must be the humans fault so no harm took place.
There will be more fun moments with Joe the Amazon Parrot will
follow once my mind clears and Joe is able to communicate with me through my
brain fog.
