Today Tuesday July 12, 2016 started off hot and then just got
hotter as the humidity of 88% kicked in and made out beautiful Villages Florida
weather miserable as the heat climbed to 98 degrees that felt like 108 degrees
drenching me as I tried to get out and about to do some chores for Joe our
Amazon Parrot who was in our cool house staying cool while it felt like I was
in the ocean soaked.
Joe has been hanging out inside his cage all day, he was not
about to come out of his cage just in case we decided to take him back to see
the avian vet. The avian vet was great
and took very good care of Joe yesterday, but Joe was not a happy parrot today
and was not about to venture out of his cage where he might be jumped on by
some fluffy green towel.
Today has been a laid back day in the Busby house hold with
Ann not feeling great due to her Fibro pain, loss of energy, and adjusting to
the high heat. Joe as mentioned has not left his cage, has eaten and drank his
water, but has said very little to
either Ann or Me since the incident yesterday.
The few times I ventured from the house today has zapped my
body energy and I just feel like Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and may have to go
take a nap. Hard to believe at one point in my life I was an athlete (football
and track), life guard, civilian police officer, soldier in the Army, National
Guard, Army Reserve while retiring from the Army and the Defense Department and
the heat never seemed to bother me like it does now that I am sixty-five years
old.
Ann came out of the master suite to see if Joe wanted a shower
and Joe gave Ann that look “Do not approach the cage” Do not touch my cage” “In
case yall have not noticed I am not a happy parrot so just turn around and go
back to bed, I am not leaving my cage without force. Joe warned he is a cart
carrying member of the parrot liberation movement and reinforced the fact he
was to be having fun and not out in the sun.
As 4:30 PM approaches Joe slips into his nap time and Ann is
reading in the master suite, I am going to take a nap and join the flock for an
afternoon snooze.
No humans or parrots were injured in the making of this Blog
about the life and times of Joe the Amazon Parrot.
