Today Monday July 18, 2016 started off with me getting up
early for a bone doctor appointment at 7:15 AM which meant Joe slept in as did
Ann. On my return from the doctors at 8:15 AM Joe and Ann were still sleeping,
but shortly after I arrived everyone was up.
My normal routine started with opening the blinds and shades,
turning on the music, making coffee, straightening up the kitchen, making
coffee, and getting fresh water for Ann and Joe and making sure both of my
family members were awake, and had their coffee and water to start the morning
off.
As the morning started Ann was reading in bed while Joe was
kind of up on his upper perch but neither of them was ready to stir from bed or
perch just yet, which allowed me to get my coffee and jot down a few of the
moments from late yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon Ann and I along with friend Marry (Joe
decided to stay at home and jot down some notes to have me put in his blog) attended
the “Asleep At The Wheel” ho down (Asleep at the Wheel is an American country music group that was formed in Paw Paw, West
Virginia,[1] but is based in Austin, Texas. Altogether, they have won nine Grammy Awards since their
1970 inception.
In their career, they have released more than twenty studio
albums, and have charted more than 20 singles on the Billboard country charts. Their highest-charting
single, "The
Letter That Johnny Walker Read", peaked at no. 10 in 1975) at 5:00
PM at the Savannah Center and enjoyed the music and being out.
Ann decided she could attend the event since
she had her walker to keep her from falling if such an even happened, so all
three of us attended the event and had a fun late afternoon of country music.
The rest of the evening at home was spent with Ann and Joe
watching television and reading.
Back to today, lots of email to catch up on, Ann working on
her Fibromyalgia notes and emails from the last meeting and getting ready for
the upcoming meeting on Wednesday July 20, 2016.
As you can tell Ann does not listen to Joe or Me about taking
it easy after her last three falls and even though she is resting and using her
walker till she gets her energy back, Ann want to stay focused and keep her
life as normal as possible, so she attended the music event and will be at the
Fibro meeting and is going to walk with her walker to get her legs working
properly again.
Joe had his mist shower this morning without any falls taking
place and enjoyed his chat and shower session with Ann and Me and had fun
walking back from the lanai to his cage, climbed the side of the cage and once
on top of the cage got his treat and chatted with us before taking a snack
brake and got ready for his late morning nap. The life of a parrot is fun and
exciting with all the napping, eating, and learning, playing, chatting and
having fun with their flock.
Ann has an appointment shortly so Joe will be in charge of the
house while we are gone, and has been practicing his unauthorized person’s
entry parrot alarm consisting of words like – Hello – Help – Police all spoken
at a very high parrot pitch.
No humans or parrots were injured in the typing of this Blog
about the life and times of Joe the Amazon Parrot with his new parrot family
Ann and Bob Busby.
